Motorcycle Industry Raises over $11,000 at Biker Fusion Event in Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 15, 2011) –  

Daytona Bike Week 2011 has officially come to a close, and the fourth annual Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse Biker Fusion event was one of the most attended charity events during this year’s Bike Week with the donations to prove it! The fourth installment of the prominent gathering, organized by Carrie Repp of R&R Promotions and Ken Conte of Rise Above Consulting, is known for bringing the motorcycle industry and enthusiasts together for a great cause. Proving once again that the motorcycle community not only loves to ride but loves to give to great causes; the 2011 Biker Fusion event succeeded in raising over $11,000 for Soldiers’ Angels.

The A-list of world-class motorcycle builders, industry elite and media gathered at the Doghouse Bar and Grill on Main Street Daytona to raise funds for Soldiers’ Angels. A volunteer-led non-profit that provides aid and comfort to active servicemen and women of the U.S. military as well as veterans and their families, Soldiers’ Angels go to great lengths to demonstrate care and concern for those who daily fight for our freedom and safety. The hosts of this year’s celebration included Paul Yaffe and Dave Perewitz, who did a tremendous job of firing up the crowd and getting people to look within and donate even the cost of a beer. Dave and Paul were assisted by Jodi Perewitz, Copper Mike and Phil Locke who made their way through the crowd collecting cash in helmets, donated by Hot Leathers, from everyone who had a few extra dollars to spare.

A highlight of the evening’s celebration included a thank you to all the active duty troops and veterans. Two soldiers that had just returned from deployments for Operation Enduring Freedom said a few words and let everyone know how appreciative soldiers are of the things that are sent and done for them when they are in the field.

The night’s additional festivities included a live auction with proceeds going to Soldiers’ Angels. Soon after bidding started, all the auction items sold with much fanfare and excitement generating significant funds. A few individuals were kind enough to contribute at the gold level including Paul Yaffe of Paul Yaffe Originals, Mike Ballard of Full Throttle Saloon, Dave Marshlack of the Doghouse and Buck Shaw. A big thank you goes out to all of them!

In addition, the Legendary Buffalo Chip together with Michael Lichter announced the 2011 Motorcycles as Art exhibition theme during this year’s Biker Fusion festivities. Entitled “Slant Artist-An Eccentric View of Motorcycles as Art”, this year’s internationally renowned exhibit will focus on the works of artist, Jeff Decker. Also unveiled was the new exhibit logo, created by Hot Leathers.
